The History of This Gem
Tutelage Court stands proudly on the historic grounds of the former Central Foundation Girls' School in College Terrace, Bow — a site woven into the educational and social fabric of East London for nearly two centuries.
Dating back to the early 19th century, this Grade II listed site has been home to a succession of distinguished academic institutions over the last 175 years, including the prestigious Coopers' Company and Coborn School, one of London's oldest academic establishments.
The buildings celebrate classical design and enduring craftsmanship, featuring Doric porches, Ionic columns, a sweeping colonnade, cupolas and decorative stucco detailing, alongside elegant 1930s Art Deco additions.
Working closely with the local authority and English Heritage, developer Jaspar Homes Limited undertook a careful restoration of the site — respecting its historic integrity while creating an outstanding new residential address.
